Bringing your product concept to life
A strong product concept is an important starting point. But there is often a world of difference between a promising formulation in the lab and a stable production process.
New materials, coatings and product designs place different demands on temperature control, coating weight, line speed and process stability. It is precisely at this stage that the challenge arises: how do you translate a functional product characteristic into a reproducible production process?
At our test centre, process engineers, application specialists and supply chain partners guide this translation. Together, we investigate which process conditions are required to produce your concept reliably, efficiently and at scale. Not based on assumptions, but on testing under realistic conditions.
Step by step, this creates a process that not only works in theory, but also delivers the required results at production scale.
At the cradle of innovation
Many innovations do not originate within the walls of a single organisation. New adhesives, release coatings, laminates and functional materials require collaboration between materials developers, manufacturers and technology partners.
That is why we actively make our testing and demonstration facilities available to the industry. Not only for end-users of our technology, but also for materials suppliers, knowledge partners and R&D teams wishing to develop and validate new concepts.
Our laboratory and pilot facilities provide the space to test ideas quickly, compare different configurations and investigate new material combinations under controlled conditions. In this way, we create an environment where product development, materials knowledge and process technology come together.
After all, innovation only becomes valuable when it proves to be actually producible.
Test runs and product validation
Sometimes you do not want to invest in new production capacity straight away. You first want to know whether a concept is technically feasible. Or whether a material behaves as expected. Or whether a coating process remains stable even at higher speeds.
That is why our facilities can be used for pilot testing, test runs and product validation.
During these processes, we identify critical process parameters, evaluate product performance and collect data that guides the next steps. This includes coating quality, film thickness distribution, material behaviour, process stability and reproducibility.
The result is more than just test data. You gain insight into the technical feasibility of your concept, as well as a sound basis for investment and upscaling decisions.
The journey from concept to process begins with the right test
Every product innovation raises different questions. How does an adhesive perform at higher speeds? Is the release stable? Is performance maintained after ageing? And does the end product meet the requirements of the application?
Our test facilities offer extensive capabilities for analysing and validating materials, coatings and product performance under realistic conditions. From coat weight measurements and release testing to adhesion and ageing tests. This gives you the insights you need to take the next step with confidence.

Production in small batches
Sometimes a product has been technically validated, but the step towards full-scale industrial production is still too great. This may be because volumes are still limited, a market launch needs to be tested first, or because in-house production capacity is not available.
In such situations, our pilot line can also be used for small-batch production.
This allows you to produce commercial pilot batches without placing a strain on your own production environment. You benefit from the same coating expertise, process control and quality assurance as during the development phase, whilst at the same time being able to support your initial market launches.
This creates a natural transition from product development to industrial implementation. From initial concept. To validated process. To commercial production.
