Rotary Laminating Press

After the hotmelt has been applied, the Rotary Laminating Press transfers the adhesive from the carrier to the top layer by applying uniform pressure across the full panel width. This creates reliable adhesion between the materials.

What makes our Rotary Laminating Press unique?

When adhesive, pressure, speed and material properties are perfectly matched, you can be confident of a successful bonding process. However, the laminating process does present a number of challenges: air pockets, uneven pressure distribution, deformation of sensitive materials or insufficient adhesion between different types of substrate can directly lead to a loss of quality or rejects.

Our Rotary Laminating Press has been developed to overcome these challenges. Thanks to independently driven press rollers, controlled pressure distribution and precise height adjustment, the system ensures a reliable bond between a wide range of materials such as wood, plastic, aluminium, foams and engineering composites. The result: strong panels, a stable process and predictable product quality.

Independently driven rollers for maximum control

At the heart of the Rotary Laminating Press are two separately driven press rollers. Both rollers can be controlled independently of one another, allowing speed and pressure distribution to be precisely tailored to the product. This provides greater control over the lamination process and helps to ensure consistent product quality, even with challenging material combinations or varying panel thicknesses.

Even pressure distribution across the entire panel

EPDM-coated press rollers distribute pressure evenly across the surface. This protects sensitive materials while creating a flat panel with consistent adhesion across the full width.

Prevent air pockets and weak joints

A challenge in many lamination processes is preventing air pockets from forming between the different layers. Even small air bubbles can affect the structural strength of the panel and, in the long term, lead to delamination or visible quality issues.

The Rotary Laminating Press ensures that materials are brought together in a controlled manner and under constant pressure. This allows the hot-melt adhesive to make good contact with both surfaces, significantly reducing the risk of air pockets.

Easy electronic height adjustment

Do your material thicknesses vary? No problem. That’s why the Rotary Laminating Press comes fitted with electronic height adjustment as standard. You can simply enter the product height via the touchscreen, after which the machine automatically adjusts to the correct processing height. This reduces changeover times and makes it easier to process different products with varying material thicknesses on the same production line.

‘Every application has different requirements in terms of pressure, material behaviour and production speed. That is why we do not supply standard solutions, but configurations tailored to your specific production process.’

Fully integrated into your production process

Depending on the application, the Rotary Laminating Press can be integrated into semi-automatic or fully automated production lines. In doing so, we consider not only the machine itself, but the entire lamination process.

The Rotary Laminating Press is usually used as part of a complete hot-melt coating and lamination line. The machine is positioned immediately after the adhesive application stage and ensures that the various layers of material are bonded together under controlled pressure.

Depending on the application, the Rotary Laminating Press can be combined with:

  • Roller Coaters
  • Drum Melters
  • Laminating Index Stations
  • Sheet Feeders
  • Corona treatment for plastic materials
  • IR preheating for glass and plastics
  • Round Brush or Cross Brush systems for wooden surfaces
  • Fully automated coating and laminating lines

Each installation is tailored to the desired product properties, capacity and material combinations. Before a line is delivered, we carry out extensive testing in our test and demonstration centre. This is followed by validation once the line is installed on site.

Applications of the Rotary Laminating Press

The Rotary Laminating Press is used in a wide range of markets where strong and consistent bonding is essential, including:

  • Construction and insulation panels
  • Doors and interior panels
  • Flooring applications
  • Engineering foams
  • Automotive components
  • Plastic panels
  • HPL, CPL and aluminium laminates
  • Engineering composites
  • Specialised industrial panels

Want to know which Rotary Laminating Press configuration is right for your product?

The correct pressure, roller configuration and product speed vary depending on the application. That is why we look beyond the machine itself. At our test and demonstration centre, we carry out extensive lamination tests to determine the optimum process settings for your product.

This means you know in advance exactly which configuration will deliver the best results in your production environment.
